The answer to the Question is yes a Chiropractor can alleviate the pain caused by sciatica! But before we get into that let’s talk briefly about back pain and its connection with sciatica.

According to the National Institute of Health, around 13.6 million people each year visit a physician as a result of generalized back pain. For many of these people, the back pain is caused by a chronic and inflammatory condition known as sciatica. Since the sciatic nerve is one of the largest in your body, the effects of an ‘irritation,’ can be debilitating at best. And flare ups of this nerve disorder can last from days to weeks, or even longer.

What most people find, is that traditional over the counter pain relievers just do not work for long. For one thing, sciatic nerve pain can run the length of your body from the buttocks down to the feet (and even higher for many people). Secondly, inflammation of nerve endings is normally not controlled by standard NSAID’s such as Advil. And the most difficult part of assessing and dealing with sciatic nerve pain is that quite often, you have no idea what you did to the afflicted area of your body. Yet since the pain is so intense, you end up compensating for aching parts of your body by overusing other muscles and joints – which greatly increases the pain factor in the long run, and makes you feel miserable from head to toe.

The question then quickly becomes – what should you do? Do you wait it out and hope that the extreme discomfort will be short lived? Do you try and find a combination of pills that will mask the pain? Should you exercise or stretch? Is it necessary to see a doctor? And if so, what kind of doctor?

The answers to these questions and more, may surprise you!

Got Sciatica? Your Chiropractor May Have the Remedy You Need to Be Pain Free

Many people believe that chiropractors are only able to help with spinal issues that involve the larger muscles and bones of the spinal column. The truth is that chiropractic care is essentially centered on realigning ALL of the nerve endings in your body. Since all nerves, including the sciatic nerve, are tied to your vertebrae, chiropractic care can be part of the answer for many sciatica sufferers. This is especially true if the sciatic nerve is compressed at its origin in the spinal cord.

Below are the top three benefits to seeing a chiropractor for sciatica.

Chiropractic adjustments can ‘take the edge of’ by helping to remove any and all compressed nerves in the spinal column. This can help to relieve the extreme discomfort and pain of sciatica that may start in your lower back and extend down into your legs. As the compression, or pressure – on the nerve is released, the nerve can begin to heal and inflammation will be reduced. Sometimes, the adjustment may need to be done several times before the patient will experience total relief.

Have you been walking funny since the onset of your sciatic pain? Chiropractors often find that patients who come into their office looking for sciatic relief – also have subluxations in other areas of the body from compensating their movements. For instance, your knees may be sore from walking differently, or your hips may have popped out of alignment with your spine. By seeking chiropractic care, a trained professional can ensure that these misalignments are fixed before they too, become chronic issues that compile and cause further pain. (Long-term subluxations, also called spinal misalignments, can lead to a weakened immune system, slowed inflammatory response and illness)

Sciatic relief by utilizing a chiropractor does not rely on over the counter or pharmaceutical medications that can be addictive and cause further bodily damage.

While chiropractic care may need to be combined with other remedies to completely cure sciatica flare-ups, it is definitely a safe and effective first step. For many people, combining chiropractic care with the cures found in Sciatica Pain – The Secrets, is all it takes to be rid of the extreme pain and discomfort that an irritated sciatic nerve can cause so you can get back to feeling like yourself again.

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy. You probably didn’t know that being pregnant would not only be a miracle, but would also be a calamity of discomforts that come and go. One of the most common discomforts experienced by thousands of pregnant women is sciatic nerve compression, also known as sciatica in pregnancy.

If you are having sciatic nerve issues with your pregnancy, you will likely feel tingling and numbness from the buttocks and hips that radiates down one leg. The area may feel inflamed, hot to the touch and makes it impossible to get comfortable. Sometimes, sitting and lying down actually make the pain worse. The pain can be described as shooting and will likely rear its ugly head during the last trimester of pregnancy. You may feel it in one area of the lower back, or may feel the pain down the entire back of your leg, and even into your swelling feet.

The reasons behind the pain are both diverse and obvious. As your uterus grows, pressure is applied to all of the nerves of the lower back and spinal cord. As the baby grows, he or she can actually rest on the sciatic nerve itself – causing it to become pinched, which results in the pain. As the baby moves around, the pain may come and go – and you may even be able to find a comfortable position that temporarily alleviates the pain. Suffice it to say that depending upon the position of your baby, the pain may be constant and nagging or intermittent.

Since it isn’t recommended that you take over the counter medications, you are left with treating the nerve pain at home.

At Home Treatment For Sciatica during Pregnancy.

Using heating pads and ice on the affected area can be a great way to help relieve the symptoms. A warm bath, if approved by your doctor can also help. Heat is affective because it helps to improve circulation to the areas of pain. If you use either a heating pad or ice, make sure that you never use them directly on your stomach, and don’t leave them on your body for more than 20 minutes at a time.

Another approach that often helps pregnant women is to get off your feet. Lying down on your right side (regardless of what side the sciatic pain is on), helps to position the baby so he or she is not lying on your organs or spinal column. This is also a great way to sleep at night. Putting a pillow between your legs while you sleep can also help. If during the day, the pain seems to get worse from walking or sitting – use the lying on your left side approach to give you some relief.

Pelvis tilts are also helpful for pregnant women suffering from sciatica. Stretching is another option. Remember that you should never do any stretches that put pressure on your abdominal area, and you may want to check with your doctor before doing too much. However, for most pregnant women, pelvic tilts are not just safe and effective, but recommended during pregnancy.

If none of these things seem to work, then try swimming. This is one of the healthiest forms of exercise for pregnant women, and helps to take pressure off the spinal column.

Also, check with a local chiropractor and see if they are trained for dealing with pregnant women. Chiropractic adjustments can greatly help to eliminate the pain.

Sadly, sciatic nerve pain is often something that pregnant women just have to deal with. After labor and delivery, the pain can last for several weeks as your body begins to adjust to not being pregnant. Hormonal changes often result in an inflammatory response and can also be the culprit behind your sciatic pain.

Pregnancy causes a great deal of changes in the body that are not always desirable or comfortable. You can utilize any of these tips as well as find more at Sciatic Pain – The Secrets, to help deal with this pain. The good news is that your condition can definitely be seen as temporary, and should subside after you have your baby.

Have you ever considered acupuncture for sciatica? Here are the facts!

If you have a sciatic nerve issue, then you have likely found yourself swallowing endless amounts of over the counter pain medication in order to take the edge off from the biting, irritating, and debilitating pain of sciatica. You may have even visited a doctor, who in turn gave you exercises or recommended steroid injections (or other medications) in order to help you recover.

While these methods may work short term, they aren’t always a long-term remedy. Most people find that once they have sciatic nerve pain, flare ups can happen at anytime and last from a few days to a couple of weeks. During this time, the quality of your life can be greatly disrupted by the immense radiating pain that may consume your entire lower body. There are other treatments that you can consider besides doctors and pills.

Sciatica suffers can in most cases benefit a lot from acupuncture therapy.

What is Acupuncture? How Does it Help Sciatica Sufferers?

Acupuncture is essentially a holistic method of health care that dates back to antiquity. Tiny needles are inserted into the top layer of the skin folds (which is virtually painless), in order to place pressure on nerve endings and pressure points throughout your body. These needles, inserted at precise points along your body, which are referred to as energy points, help to promote natural healing, pain relief and realign the energy pathways that carry information from one part of your body to another. One of the reasons that acupuncture for sciatica is so successful is because it helps to clear obstructions along nerve ways, and encourages your body to release healing chemicals to the muscles, spinal cord, and brain.

For sciatica sufferers, the cause of the sciatic nerve pain can be varied. Often, it stems from stress or anxiety. It can also be brought about by over zealous workouts or bad sleep positioning. For others, it is caused by misalignment in other parts of the body. General inflammation is also a reason that people experience flare-ups. Since there are so many reasons for sciatica, there are also many treatments. Around 95% of the population will receive pain relief and long-term benefit from acupuncture treatments. Acupressure, which utilizes the same pressure points along the body – can also be useful.

The Chinese believe that energy flows through your body along pathways. When any pathways are obstructed for any reason, the result is pain or illness. Acupuncture can eliminate these energetic obstructions, especially along nerve endings, and help to rebalance the ‘Chi” or positive energy in your body.

The best part is that you don’t have to ‘believe’ in any sort of healing modality to experience the benefit of acupuncture. It is not faith based or religious in nature. Today, most massage therapies follow the same pressure points that have been used for thousands of years by acupuncturists.

The most difficult aspect of acupuncture, depending upon where you live, can be finding a certified, and properly trained acupuncturist. In many locals, they are not required to get certifications and their practices are not regulated. In order to get the best care for yourself, do some research online before choosing an acupuncturist and ask the practitioner lots of questions before allowing them to work on your body.

Acupuncture can be an amazing, cost effective, and drug free first step to resolving your bouts with sciatica. Many people combine this healing modality with others, such as the ones found in Sciatica Pain – the Secrets.

Most importantly, you should take your sciatic pain seriously. Left untreated – not only can the pain worsen, but it can also lead to further damage and illness to your body and nervous system. You should definitely seek help.

Can Sciatica be from running? No Way says the experts!!!

Sciatica is the medical name for compression of the sciatic nerve. This nerve, one of the largest in the body, runs from the buttocks down through the legs. When any part of the nerve is compressed (commonly referred to as pinched), the pain can radiate throughout the entire lower back and body. Most often, the pain is secluded to one side of the body- although the irritation and inflammation can cause pain to radiate to many areas of the body – like the foot or abdomen, that are typically unrelated.

Normally, the compression of this nerve occurs in the lower spinal column – and can be linked to structural problems with the back – such as a herniated disk. But it can also be caused by stress on the body, as well as accidents or injuries to the lower back or legs.

For runners, sciatic pain can be debilitating causing you to miss workouts. Since running utilizes the same muscles, joints and body parts that runners need to engage in a workout – many people believe that sciatica comes from running. However, most orthopedic doctors renounce this claim and in fact believe that running can actually help to keep sciatica at bay. However many people that run do not engage in their exercise program safely. The key to reducing sciatic pain from running is to learn how to run safely and follow the rules of the road so to speak. Here’s how!

Three Must Know Tips for Runners to Avoid Sciatica

Stretch! You should never open your front door and just start running. Before you run, you should warm up your body and stretch the muscles of the back and spine to avoid injury. You should also take special care to stretch the ankles and feet to avoid putting unreasonable stress on the body. After you stretch, start out running slowly and NEVER continue to run if you feel pain in the lower back.

Proper Foot Wear! If you are a runner, your best friend is proper running footwear. Not only should you be sized by a professional, but you should also have your in step measured and fitted properly. Different running shoes are designed to accommodate different types of runners. Find a running store that will actually take a digital impression of your in-step, which considers the shape and arch of your foot – so you won’t be unnecessary pressure and stress on the muscles and nerves of the legs.

Recognize the Symptoms of Sciatica. Do you have sore muscles, or is the pain from sciatica? For runners, sciatic pain often involves the piriformis muscle, located in the buttock/hip area. This muscles sits right on top of the sciatic nerve and is often worked heavily when running. Symptoms of sciatica in runners can be numbness or tingling in the hips, legs, feet, and toes. Muscle weakness, and tingling are also symptoms. If you start experiencing pain, you should STOP your work-outs right away and look for some of the awesome tips and hints for curing sciatic pain offered in Sciatic Pain – The Secrets

Sciatic pain from running or from other injuries to your body can last for several days to 8 weeks. By combining methods to cure your pain, utilizing hot and cold treatments to the afflicted area and taking anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen – you can greatly reduce your healing time. The most important consideration for a runner is to follow the preventative tips as outlined above, and listen to your body. If the pain flares up, it is very important to optimize your healing time by slowing down and reducing the intensity of your running workouts.

The cure for sciatica is a subject that has many answers. It all depends on the treatment that each person wants to follow. Home remedy for instance is one of the chosen treatments that some people prefer. Before we get into that lets look at some general facts about Sciatica.

Sciatica afflicts millions of people, from all walks of life – across the world. In fact, every year over 13 million people seek medical attention to help reduce the pain and inflammation that is common with sciatic nerve compression. The tell tale signs of sciatica include pain that radiates from the buttocks to the legs, often includes numbness and tingling, and difficulty with performing basic movements such as walking or running.

Additionally, for many people, getting good nights sleep with a sciatic nerve flare-up is virtually impossible. Because a nerve is affected – it can be extremely difficult to pinpoint the source of the pain and you may not even know what happened to cause the inflammation.

There are many different reasons that people have problems with sciatica. It can be an indication of a deeper issue, such as a herniated disk or compressed spine – which may require a physician’s attention. And it can also be from excess stress on the body.

If you are suffering, chances are you want relief as soon as possible. For most people the nerve pain resolves itself in a matter of days to weeks. However, there are many things that you can do at home right now to completely alleviate or reduce the pain and greatly shorten your healing time. Check out the following tips.

Three How to Tips to Cure Sciatica at Home

Stretching. Stretching can help to release the sciatic nerve from being pinched off by muscles or spinal misalignment. You should try to stretch 3 times a day. There are many different stretches that you can do, and orthopedic doctors recommend people listen to their body and engage in long muscle stretching exercises that seem to offer symptomatic relief. Even if the initial relief is short term, over the course of a few days – this stretching can be very effective. If you don’t know how to stretch on your own, then take a yoga class. Yoga not only offers the benefits of stretching, but also helps you to realign the spine and helps to unclog energy throughout your body that can be leading to the pain and discomfort. In the long term, stretching and taking classes (or doing home videos) of yoga will greatly increase your overall health and wellbeing.

Self Acupuncture. You don’t have to be an acupuncturist or massage therapist to know how to help yourself. In fact, if you run your hands along your buttocks and legs and find the tender points, you will know exactly where to start. Many people utilize a tennis ball on these ‘tender spots’ and lean against a wall, applying pressure to the body exactly where it needs it. Use what feels good to you as a guide to know if you are doing it correctly. You can also use a tennis ball and have a friend or partner apply pressure to the tender spots to help reduce inflammation of the sciatic nerve.

Heat, Ice and Analgesic. Alternating therapies of heat and ice are doctor recommended cures you can do at home for sciatica. The heat improves blood flow and circulation to the affected area, and the ice reduces swelling and inflammation. You should do 20 minutes of heat, followed by 20 minutes of ice. You can also use analgesic balms, such as Icy Hot to help reduce the pain. Try to do this three times per day, or more if possible.

Of course, you will likely try other pain relievers as well. Taking anti-inflammatory medications for a very short period of time will likely not help for more than a short interim period. Because sciatica pain is so immense, and causes a great deal of ‘referred’ pain, it is hard to control with painkillers. Plus, you can end up doing more damage to other parts of your body.

What is the best treatment for sciatica?

The best treatment for sciatica is…… Not so fast we need to understand the main cause of sciatica first!!!!

Inflammation caused by pressure on the root of the sciatica nerve is the main cause for sciatic pain. To remedy sciatica the pressure on the sciatic nerve root must be relieved. Most treatments are non invasive and quite easy to do. Although in severe cases – for instance in cases where the spinal column is damaged – surgery may be needed.

By far the treatment used the most is in the form of painkillers. It comes in the form of anti-inflammatory muscle relaxing medication. No steroid type medication is prescribed for treatment. In severe cases opiate-based painkillers are prescribed, but only as a last resort before surgery as this type of medication have a risk of addiction by the patient. Medical practitioners also suggest exercise as part of a daily routine as a way of alleviating pain. The strengthening and stretching of leg and back muscles associated with the sciatica nerve also brings relief from pain.

What is the best treatment for sciatica, you might ask….

By far the best way to reduce sciatica pain is by changing certain habits and positions while standing, sitting and sleeping. By changing the way you sit, stand and sleep will in most cases reduce pain considerably.

By concentrating on the right posture you create an environment where your back can heal and become strong and pain free. Bad posture is the main culprit that keeps your back from healing. Bad posture causes the sciatica nerve to constantly be compressed and irritated which in turn causes the bad symptoms that one experiences with such a condition. The following guidelines should be followed when sitting, standing and sleeping.

1. Sitting.

- Do not slouch and always sit up straight, but not to straight. When you feel tension in the back you know you are sitting to straight or slouching.

- Concentrate on your head position. Are you possibly leaning forward or backward too much? The human head ways about 15 pounds and can put a lot of strain on the back if it is not in the right position.

- Back support is also very important when sitting. Use a chair that supports the back properly.

- Take a brake every thirty minutes to an hour by standing up and walking around. Even some stretching can help to loosen the muscles and prevent unnecessary pain. Sitting in the same position for too long puts a lot of strain on the muscles tendons and on the nerves running through them.

2. Standing.

- The amount of time you spend on your feet can also cause sciatic pain. Try to stand for shorter periods if possible.

- Be aware of the way you are standing. Do not push your pelvis too far forward. Or too far backward. Do not let your shoulders hang forward. That also places a burden on the lower back and subsequently causes the sciatic nerve to cause pain and discomfort. Keep your feet slightly apart while standing. Consciously look at your posture. Are your shoulders in line with your ears and your chin parallel to the ground? If not you are standing in the wrong position for a healthy back.

3. Sleeping.

- Sleeping on your stomach will most probably aggravate the pain and is not the right thing to do.

- Sleeping with a lot of pillows cropped up underneath you will have the same negative effect.

- Put a pillow underneath your knees when sleeping on your back. It will take the stress of your lower back.

- Also put a pillow between your knees when lying on your side for lower back support.

- It is also important that your head is in the right position while sleeping. Your pillow should support your head just right. It shouldn’t lift your head to much or allow it to sag too far back.

- Your pillow should also support your neck while sleeping.

The best thing to do to treat sciatica is by first improving your posture. Also do exercise to strengthen the supporting muscles surrounding the sciatica nerve. This way you might be able to get rid of sciatica pain altogether and avoid having discomfort and pain associated with sciatica ever again in your life…

In the past sciatica and exercises was never seen as beneficial to each other but exercise is one of the more modern methods of treating sciatica. Exercise will most probably be a part of the treatment regime a medical professional would suggest. Exercise for sciatica includes walking and different training exercises to strengthen the core muscles around the sciatic nerve.

In a lot of cases walking helps to relief the pain that the sciatica condition causes. Walking is a low impact low aerobic exercise. It strengthens and improves flexibility in the lower back. Start by walking short distances every day. Increase the distance walked gradually up to as far as three miles per day.

Other exercises can also help to alleviate the sciatica pain. Aerobic exercises and exercises to strengthen the lower back and core muscles of the body will help a lot. The stronger your core muscles the less strain is on the spine to carry the upper body weight of a person. Another benefit of exercise is that it causes your body to release endorphins which is a natural painkiller. Not to mention the normal benefits of regular exercise.

However it is very important to carry out the right exercises in the right way for your condition. In rare cases sciatica is caused by tumours or infection which is a medical condition for which exercise won’t really help. The wrong exercise or exercises carried out in the wrong manner may even worsen the condition a person is suffering from. Therefore it is advisable to seek the expertise of a medical practitioner, chiropractor or certified athletic trainer before you start any training regime.

Regular gentle exercises are the best route to follow. Apart from strengthening the core muscles and the abdominal muscles other muscles associated with the sciatic nerve should also be strengthened and stretched. The piriformis muscle – for instance – is a muscle located on the inside of the buttocks. This muscle can put pressure on the sciatic nerve if it tightens. To stretch the piriformis lie on your back. Bend your knees to make ninety degree angles. Cross one leg over the other. Pull gently towards your chest with your hands until you feel the muscle in your buttock tighten. Hold for a minute and repeat with the legs crossed the other way. This exercise should bring immediate pain relief.

When the hamstring muscle is too tight it also can cause problems in the lower back area. It can in some cases even be the cause of sciatica pain. The hamstring is the muscle that runs down the back of the upper leg. To stretch the hamstring is also advisable.

In conclusion it is important to exercise. It is also important to see a doctor for advice on the right kind of exercise. Stretching and core strength exercise will improve your condition if done properly and regularly. Walking should be a part of your exercise regime.

The answer is everything!!!!!

When coping with sciatica pain it is very important to make a few changes to your lifestyle to put your back in good health. This means you must do more than taking pain pills or anti-inflammatory pills.

<script type="text/javascript"

You Must realize that you need to make changes in your lifestyle and that a combination of lifestyle changes, different remedies and exercises is what is required to cure sciatica forever.

How to relieve pain from sciatica is a question that can be answered with a bit of patience and knowledge.

Exercise is one of the first things that one should consider when planning to make changes to better the health of your back. It is very important to consult your doctor before any exercise regime is started. He or she should first determine the cause of your sciatic pain. With the proper diagnoses the health care professional can give you guidelines on which exercises will be most beneficial for your condition. You don’t want to do exercises that might deteriorate the situation. Stretching exercises should target the right muscles (the muscles supporting and surrounding the sciatica nerve), because those are the ones that needs to be loosened up and strengthened.

The sciatic nerve runs through certain muscles and it’s the tension in these muscles that can compress the sciatic nerve causing the pain that one experiences. The kinds of exercises are closely related to the kind of sciatic pain that you experience. Sciatic pain experienced because of spinal stenosis would need different exercises than would pain caused by a lumber herniated disc. Spinal stenosis is caused when the spinal column narrows for some reason or another. Lumber herniated disc means that a disc in the spinal column has moved also causing narrowing of the spinal column within which the sciatic nerve runs.

Reducing everyday stress on your back will also help reduce the frequency of outbreaks of sciatica pain. This means you must concentrate on the proper posture when doing things like picking up heavy objects, sitting, standing and even walking.

When sitting down for instance make sure your back is supported and that you are sitting up straight. Also make sure your head is not leaning forward too much or backward in order for you to see what you are doing. Rather move your work closer to you or further from you depending on the situation. Bring your legs to the same height or even higher than your hips by using a footrest. This creates a favorable position for a proper sitting position. Make sure that your computer screen is at the right height so that you don’t have to look up or down in order to see it properly. Always keep your head as close to a normal position as possible.

It is also important to take a break from sitting or standing every thirty to sixty minutes for your back to stay stress free. When you have to stand for long periods of time, make sure you rotate the weight from one foot to the other every once in a while. Also try to elevate the resting foot on a curb or something for a while.

Do your best not to sleep on your stomach for this position put a lot of stress on the muscles and ligaments in question. If there is no other way then sleep with a pillow under your hips while sleeping on your stomach.

From this article it is obvious that a whole lifestyle change is needed to find real relief from sciatica pain. The remedy for sciatica is in the changes you make to adapt to your situation and on how diligently you stick to these changes.

In order for someone to cure Sciatica you must have a good understanding of what sciatica really is. Sciatica is the layman’s term for a condition in the lower back called radiculopathy. It occurs when the root of the nerve (radicular nerve) that runs to the legs is compressed.

The radicular nerve is part of a bigger nerve called the sciatic nerve. It runs down the spinal column and splits close to the tailbone where it runs down both legs. Usually the compression of the nerve is caused by a herniated disc (a disc protruding from its normal position) or by narrowing of the column within which the nerve is situated.

It is very important to understand the cause of the pain. By treating the cause, in other words realigning the disc in the lower back thereby opening the column within which the irritated nerve is situated, the symptoms might dissipate faster. Taking pain killers will ease the pain temporarily but won’t solve the problem. Painkillers also have a lot of side effects that can cause other problems not even related to the initial cause of discomfort.

Because the sciatica nerve runs through lots of different muscles and bones and supports a lot of functions throughout the body it causes a lot of different symptoms. The main symptoms of sciatica are as follows:

1. Lower back pain.

2. Numbness, tingling feelings and low strength in the lower back. The body sometimes feel top heavy and it seems that the bottom cannot support the top.

3. These symptoms can spread down to the buttock area and even down one leg or both up to as far as the calf muscle.

Mostly the symptoms are relieved and can totally disappear in a few days or months by treatment without any surgery. In severe cases some people experiences so much pain that normal everyday task become impossible to carry out.

There are different ways to cure sciatica and to help with pain relief for sciatica.

The traditional method is to first relief the pain with painkillers and then to start working on the problem. Physiotherapy is normally the next step in the process. If physiotherapy doesn’t work then surgery is suggested. A person suffering from sciatica must be very cautious when considering surgery. The human spine carries all the nerves and to cut close to that can be very dangerous and might even cause more damage than good.

Non traditional methods include the following. Different exercises to help strengthen the back muscles and area surrounding the sciatic nerve. Walking is also recommended because it flexes and strengthens the right muscles. Walking is also a low impact exercise. Walking can also relief tension in the whole body and that in itself can already have a positive effect on the pain that a person experiences. Yoga can also help to relief a person of pain and symptoms of sciatica.

Lifestyle changes normally can bring great relief from sciatica pain. Walking, sitting, standing and sleeping in the proper way do help a lot with sciatica pain. Even what you eat can influence sciatica in one way or the other.

The most important thing when treating sciatica is to seek the help of a health practitioner. Treatment for sciatica is different depending on what causes the sciatica pain. After consultation with a health practitioner and finding the cause of the pain one can consider alternative healing methods. Even alternative methods of reducing the pain can work without over the counter medicine with all its negative side effects.
